Tulips are the Victoria's Secret models of flowers: shiny, silky, and provocative.There has been some knitting and crafting of late, but I haven't documented it. I will, I promise. In the meantime, have a look at these:
I don't pretend to have Jane's knowledge or green thumb, and certainly not her photography skills, but these sprang up in our yard and I must say I am thrilled to have them here.

only thing I can think is that it's a closeup of a lesser-known citrus fruit... maybe an Ugli?
I love tulips also, your photos are beautiful! My guess is a grapefruit! (And I swear that was my guess before I saw beths comment, honestly!)
